Fancy Me First - 19 yrs. This will be Fancy's thread where we will keep any updates and/or new photos.
Date of arrival to MHWF: 11/12/2011
$400 - Fancy Me First is a registered 19 year old Appy mare. Even though she is registered as an appy, she is a grulla and is a pretty gal as well. She is sound and very well broke to ride. Fancy is current on all her shots, wormings and trims and had her teeth floated in October 2011, so she is all set to go. She loads, leads, ties and is great for the vet and farrier. This is a horse just about anyone can ride and handle. She is very laid back and sweet and is a trail veteran. She does not have much for special needs, just a scoop a day of grain and no dusty or moldy hay. This is the kind of horse anyone can appreciate and enjoy, plus a grulla to boot!

She won't even be here long enough for Karen to get extra photos of her. Sometimes I wish I needed an extra horse. She's cute and furry now, and I bet she looks great in her summer coat too. |

I will have to look through Fancy's paperwork, but I know she has accrued some points showing. She has also had, I believe, 4 foals (of which we have pictures too, and 2 of them were twins) and some of their history and their points earned. I will have to get to that some time after work tonight and will share what info we have on that.
Fancy is really a super sweet mare who learned the routine here very quickly. She is very easy to deal with and handle and just a sweetheart! She has fit in the herd nicely already, not being a bossy alpha mare at all, just finding her place nicely and getting along well.

Who would have thought that you'd get two grullas (and such nice ones, at that) into the program (and probably both adopted out again) in just a few months. What are the chances of that? I'm glad that they both found their way into MHWF (as I'm sure they are, too). |

Wouldn't she look good next to Lobo? The boys would love her and it sounds like she'd fit right in.

Jurita, I thought that first thing when I saw the photo this day. *Lobo* and *Fancy* would be that perfect couple in the pasture. Wow! That would be a perfect Thanksgiving or Christmas surprise, and think of all of the whinnying in the pasture... Yeeee Haaaa |

Fancy is about 14.3, but we haven't measured her so I could be off an inch or 2. We are still evaluating the type of rider she will need, but are told almost anyone can ride her.

She is just beautiful! I thought for sure Jurita would have an early Christmas present by now...hee hee...For sure didn't think she would last this long. |

She is really only still here because of a combination of bad weather and us being sick for a good 10 days or so. There is a big storm coming tomorrow, so they say, so I assume that will slow things down again as well. |

A pic of Fancy right after breakfast on 12/03/2011, in the rather foggy and wet day. Fancy is doing very well. She is a very sweet mare who gets along well with everyone. She is a lower on the totem pole kind of girl, never causing a fuss. She needed to gain a few pounds when she came in, as her donor noted that she dropped a few pounds after coming off of pasture. Fancy gets a small scoop of grain in the morning and in the evening and she has gained a few pounds and is looking good!

i can't believe this girl has been adopted yet...If I had room for one more, she seems like she would be a perfect fit...maybe a horse my grandkids could ride? I swore 4 was my limit tho...Someone better adopt her before I get some crazy ideas that my husband would have a fit about! |

Jamie M I feel the same way about her and Doc. It would be SOOO dangerous if I brought a trailer out to WI.
Some very nice horses waiting for homes. Going to be some very lucky people!!

| Jamie M. your post made me laugh because I have asked Travis about a couple of the horses at MHWF and get the "We said we'd only have two horses....remember." |
