This is great news. For some reason I've been especially hoping for a good home for Bella.
Congratulations Bella and Dorita!
Congratulations! You and Bella look wonderful together. :)
Woohoo! Isn’t it great to have an indoor arena to test ride horses all year round!
Congrats to Bella and Dorita for finding each other.
That is great news!! Congratulations and welcome to the MHWF family 😉
I have always loved winter adoptions and this one is no exception. Congratulations and happy trails!
Today was official adoption day, and Bella left for her new home with Dorita. Charlie and Cougar (the weanlings) aren't thrilled about their Aunty Bella leaving, but I'm sure they will adjust pretty quickly and stop calling for her and looking for her.
We are really happy for Bella and Dorita, and we look forward to hearing about their adventures together! Here is a cute adoption day picture, 2/18/2018. Attached Images
beautiful picture so happy for both of you
Here’s a picture of Bella in the arena today. She was much calmer today and she listened well. We walked through, around and over obstacles and she did great. 😉
Margie holding both Bella and Chester.
I just caught on. Bella must be joining Chester B and Tequela/Annie at Meadowsweet Ranch. Great place for them to call home!
Winner, winner, chicken dinner, but three different adopters.
Very cool that they all get to be together...horses and adopters!
Such a pretty girl! Love all those spots in her shoulder area, so neat!!
She looks so good! 😉
Love seeing the one day horse surrenders doing great in their new homes!
Please give Bella a very warm MHWF welcome back. Bella made her way to MHWF Sunday, 9/13/2020 at almost 10 p.m. Bella is in need of us to get to the bottom of some medical issues she is having. Bella is a double registered 20-year-old Tennessee Walking Horse/Spotted Saddle Horse mare who came to MHWF back in 2017, coming in needing rehab from malnutrition. She rehabbed beautifully and was adopted out in early 2018. Currently, Bella has been having some medical issues and also her adopter having some issues that made Bella’s return to MHWF the best route to go. MHWF will need to get some vetting on Bella to find out what is going on with some of her symptoms including going on and off of feed, coming up with a fever a week or so ago with high SAA and WBC count. We will need to do more blood work and likely ultrasounds. We do not know what the outcome will be, it could possibly be cancer or an internal abscess or a list of things that we need to sort out. Bella needs our help and we are happy to have her here and get to the bottom of her health issues. Bella is here with us now and we are happy to welcome her aboard. We understand that there are tough times for everyone, and we want you to rest assured that even though we are all going through these tough times together, we are still going above and beyond to make sure the equines here that you love and support do not go without during these times.
If you would like to make a donation towards Bella’s upcoming medical bills and ongoing care, there are multiple ways you can do that. Every single penny makes a difference in being able to help horses like Bella, and no donation is ever too small.
You can give in a variety of ways. ◈ You can send a donation via PayPal or credit card at this link: ✨ https://www.paypal.com/donate?token=Iq9qtKpk4KHfxut0NWhPuqf09th7PTzeGm3eHys_5rZY_6rRnCqmrCB7C5r9V5VL2x9K-l3N3ux65gYC or Click here ◈ You can mail a donation: ✨ Midwest Horse Welfare Foundation, Inc. 10990 State Highway 73 Pittsville, WI 54466 ◈ Or you can come to our website and click on any of the “Donate” buttons: ✨ http://www.equineadoption.com/

Welcome Bella! I am so happy that you are in good hands.
Bella - 20 yrs. Not Available - Under Evaluation Bella is a 20 year old Spotted Saddle Horse mare that has been part of MHWF for a few years now. She came to MHWF at the One Day Adoption Event in the fall of 2017. Her feet and teeth were a mess, she was very thin and was covered in burrs, rain rot and scratches. Through all that, she was as sweet as they come and bounced back fairly quickly. She was adopted after she was rehabbed and has been in that adoptive home ever since. Recently her adopter was injured and no longer able to ride, and at the very same time, Bella started having some major health problems. She goes on and off of her feed, has a high temp and her blood work does not looks pretty bad. Bella is now back here at MHWF and we can start to figure out what is going on with her. Some of the possible causes are cancer, liver failure, or even a huge abscess in her abdomen, among other things. We will work toward finding out exactly what it is and will share those results here, hoping that whatever it is can be treated and fixed. Her mood is still good and she is still as sweet as ever. In the meantime, we are accepting donations to help with her medical expenses. If you can spare a few dollars to help Bella get through this and help us get some answers, we certainly welcome the help. Donations can be sent through any of the "Donate" buttons here on our website or mailed to our address which is listed on our "Contact" page. Thank you in advance for your help and consideration.
Bella is getting vet work done today. We will be sure to update with the results as they come in.
