Bucket of Suds - 9 yrs.

$400 - Bucket of Suds is a 9 year old off the track TB gelding. He stands at 15.3 hands tall. He was retired from race training after bowing a tendon, so his race career ended there. He was then trained to be a trail horse and that is what he has been doing ever since. He has done a lot of riding in the arena and on the trails. He does have an ugly scar on the front of his canon bone on his right front leg. It does not give him any trouble and he moves wonderfully, very flashy. Because of his past injuries, Suds will never be a race horse and cannot be used for speed or jumping events, but he will make someone a wonderful trail horse. He is quiet and well-mannered and is really cute too. Lots of training, still reasonably young, nice looking and sane, Suds will be a great partner for whoever adopts him.

You need an approved application on file to make an appointment to meet the adoption horses.

He did race, and I dug up his stats.

I just came in from spending some time in the pasture, and I just have to note that Suds follows me around like a puppy dog out there.  He is a super sweet and very personable horse.

Bucket of Suds!  What a great name, and I love the name Suds too.
Well, this lucky guy came out today for the test riding day, and a wonderful person who brought her friend here to meet horses wound up falling for this guy in a big way herself.  Connie brought her friend Tracy to meet horses and wound up finding herself falling in love too.  Connie adopted Mikey some time ago and they were a fabulous pair.  Unfortunately, Mikey crossed the Bridge back in 2012.  I know that this hit Connie really hard and has been a very tough loss.  Thank you Connie, for opening your heart to another.  Suds is one lucky guy and I am so happy that everything fell into place the way it did for him today.

Connie, thank you so much for supporting adoption, and for giving Suds a great home!

Suds will be leaving for his new home soon, but we did get some pictures on adoption day today, 3/15/2015.

SO many great adoptions this weekend!  Congrats to Suds and Connie - he has such a sweet face!  I'm biased but in my opinion, you just can't go wrong with a TB.  Hoping you send updates so we can share in your adventure!

I just adore this guy and was so happy and jealous when he was adopted. Unfortunately my barn is full, now that my Moms horse resides with us[frown]

I wonder what happened that he is back with MHWF.  He sounds like a very mellow boy (unless I missed something).

Hopefully he'll find his forever home soon.

Suds is a really great guy, and I sure hope no one overlooks him just because he returned to MHWF.  Just remember that phrase we've shared from Charles Wilhelm a few times.  As far as why he returned, his adopter said that she had trouble with him not standing still for mounting and had trouble getting him in a trailer.  I know she went and bought another horse some time back, and Suds was waiting to get back here for a bit, but he is finally back and looking for his home.  We had no trouble with Suds standing still for mounting while he was here, and we will be sure to do that with him as well as load him on the trailer a few times as well to be sure that is all still intact.

Suds was such a blast to ride when he was here at MHWF, I know a couple of the volunteers here sure would have liked to take this guy home with them if they could.  We had a super busy weekend and new horses coming in, and we actually put Suds low in the list to get him out to ride him again because he was such an excellent ride when he was here before (after he had sat and not ridden for some time with the person who donated him).  Suds didn't wind up getting ridden this past weekend.  I do have a bunch of pictures of Suds being ridden here from this past March that I will share.  Suds is very responsive to cues, is great at walk-trot-canter, has been trail ridden a lot and is going to make someone a fantastic horse!

Here are some riding pics of Suds from here at MHWF.

He would be one of the first ones I'd look at, if I were looking.

Which I'm not.

Really.
