This will be Elsie's thread where we will keep any new updates and/or photos. Date of arrival to MHWF: 10/7/2011 Elsie - 9 yrs.
$500 - Elsie is a 9 year old Appendix QH mare. She stands at 15 hands tall. Elsie is current on her shots and dewormers and has had one home since she was a yearling. She is sound, healthy and well behaved. She leads, loads, ties and is good for the vet and farrier. Elsie has been ridden English Hunt and is the mother of Dakota. She has been ridden in traffic and has even done a few trail rides. She is a very nice horse with the abilities and training a good English rider can appreciate. We will add to her description as we get to know her better and have had a chance to test ride her.
Update: 10/11/2011
We took advantage of the nice weather on Monday evening and test rode Elsie. She was taken from walk to trot and to the canter, then back down again. She was probably ridden for about 20. Elsie stood nicely to be tacked up, stayed calm and relaxed and did very well for a horse that has not been ridden in 2 years. She did give one buck and one rear, but after a few minutes settled in and did pretty well. She is not a horse for a green rider, but is just a little rusty and will come back around very quickly. This is a pretty nice mare and anyone not completely green will do well with her and should enjoy her unlimited abilities.

*bump* She's so pretty! :) I'm sitting here in my animal science class with nothing to do, so I figured I'd get on and look through all the horses haha has anybody called about Elsie? She sounds like she can do it all and has great manners... Surprised she's still here!

Elsie was less than an angel for the farrier and does need some work on her ground manners, which is coming along. She is not a horse for a complete beginner, but will make someone a great horse for sure!! Here is a recent pic of Elsie in the snow.

I've liked the looks of Elsie from day one and am shocked that she's still there. Ground manners are easy and she will most certainly make someone a great partner. I love her color as it's so different. Super cool girl.

She doesn't seem to be that much of a project and what a spectacular looking girl under saddle and out in the snow!

Michela - get your application in (you can get to it from the homepage)!! I adopted Aria and it's the best decision I've made. I get so much fulfillment everytime I see her, even if things aren't perfect.

Today the round pen really had a chance to melt, drain and dry, so it's looking pretty good. If the weather holds out tomorrow we will ride Elsie again and have a new update to share.
