Karen,

I went to the journal and have not seen any new updates.  How is that Mista doing?

He's doing great, thanks for asking Jen.  He has grown a nice fuzzy coat now too.  It is just time that is a factor in me being able to post to my journal....you would think that since it is not summer any more that things with this program would have slowed down, but they certainly haven't and we have been very busy.  That is a very good thing, but it doesn't leave a lot of "extra" computer time.  Once we hit January I will have a lot more computer time (but then probably nothing exciting to write about either)

I know that I actually posted a bit about Mista here on the forum in a different, more current thread than this one, but not sure where that one is.  I actually posted a picture of Mista in his "Halloween Costume" on there too, and a very recent picture of Mista in his new purple rope halter from Sophie just last week (that would be under the "thank you Sophie" thread that was written by Mista).

Yes,, and I check to see if there is another UPDATE added to the journal atleast once a week. It is just a refreshing journey to go into "Mista's" life of experiences, and his activity... He is such a handsome boy, and I would guess that his brain is in OVERDRIVE all of the time, always thinking of the mischief that he can get into, and the many kisses that he can GIVE!!!

On November 11th, you did a very nice article about the present that "Mista" got from Sophie, and "Mista" is modeling it very nicely.... I don't know where his halloween costume is though..... Sophie did a very nice job! I would like to know if it can be adjusted if their head is a little bigger or smaller....

Sophie can make every size of the spectrum from pony to big horsie, he he   and I have several of each size.  She does awesome work and is such a sweetie to deal with.  Thanks hon!

Arizona sports a genuine 'Sophie' in purple also.  Great halter!  Support a sweetheart and buy a 'Sophie' today!    She'll probably adopt another darling with all her extra cash!

Aw, you guys are too sweet! I'm glad to hear my customers are happy, it does worry me sometimes that people won't be pleased with my work. Thanks again you two!

Yes Charlene, I can do little minis, big drafts, and everything in between.

It's good to hear that Mista is doing so well.  I know what it's like being busy this time of year getting everything ready for winter! (though we're not quite as busy as you guys) Sophie that rope halter is beautiful; i'd love to have you make some for our horses. Karen has my email if your interested.

Isn't that AWESOME!  You'll have to let us know how we can purchase any items that end up with Mista's beautiful face on them.  You know, he came up on blackhorse the other day. The discussion was on interesting facial markings and someone mentioned Mista.  What a celebrity he is!

Thanks guys, we're pretty excited about it.

Melissa, did it happen to be the same person over there who said that there was no way that Mista could be gelded, and that even if there was a remote chance that could happen that he'd still be an unruly and unsafe horse at his age? hehehe...I'm sorry, just couldn't help that (no need to answer that)

I'm pretty excited about Mista winning for the month of December in that photo contest on Petusiasm and being featured in their calendar for 2008 (and still in the running for the cover photo, which would win us a canvas art print of Mista too).

Which brings me to the news that we have found a local printer willing to work with us and we will be able to do MHWF horse calendars!!   Mista will certainly grace one of those pages.  I will start a separate thread regarding the MHWF calendars when we are close to having the time to getting that all set up and we can share more details then.

Even better news!  I can't wait to see what pictures make it in the calendar.  Now that is going to be a tough choice.  Maybe a pair of irresitible little donkeys, perhaps???? ;-)

PS - Not sure, didn't recognize the name at all and was quite surprised to see him mentioned.  But yeah, I did remember some of those misguided remarks.  GEEZZ!!!!

Karen, I just went to Petusiasm and saw the beautiful Mista and the write up about him. After 23 years of being in a stall, he finally gets his time to shine. Congratulations MHWF!!!

Just catching up here......

I finally looked up the Petusiasm site to see Mista's beautiful picture that won for the month of December.  The picture is unbelievable, it just pulls you in!  I hope it wins overall and hits the cover for 2007!  Good Luck Karen!

It is fun to read your journal - Mista is definitely looking like a little stinker in the recent post!  I hadnt checked it out in a while (my bad) so had a couple of your entries to catch up on.  Its fun to read a little "behind the scenes".

I just went to the journal too, and I saw, of course, "King Mista" in his royal cape, extending his FRISKINESS, and the other two, "Daisy Duke" & "Bambi" standing there so cute. Then I saw that gorgeous set of almost black sweeties standing there. I didn't know who I was looking at until I read the journal, and hence, it was none other than "Volare" and "Sophie". It looks like "Volare" was thinking of doing something, cuz "Sophie" is looking straight at him... I love how "Volare" is holding his neck, so PRIM/PROPER!! "Bambi" & "Daisy Duke" seem like such a PERFECT set of matching bookends/buddies.... Thanks for this picture, it is very nice!! I love this one.It has to be alot of fun to just be able to capture these moments..

I was fortunate enough to meet Mista this last weekend, and I wish I would have had a camera. It was so cool see Mista with my 2 girls, he was  such a gentleman. They are only 8 & 9 and he was a wonderful embassador. Bravo to those that have contributed to making him happy.

Thanks Kellie.

Ok, now when you say "he was a gentleman" how did that go? He is sure something just to look at on my SCREEN, so for me to see the "King Mista" in person, would be like greeting "Prince Charming" huh? It gives me goosebumps just to think about it... I most likely would be breaking out in a sweat the closer that I came to the rescue.... There are soo many that I am anxious to see, and just sit and watch converse/play...Kellie, did you see "Bambi" and "Daisy Duke" and "Volare" too? That had to be quite the SPECIAL afternoon! You should of had a camcorder for all of the happiness that you must have endured!! You LUCKY BUGGER!! Now, that is a cocky remark, not an insult... I am feeling FRISKY knowing that you had such a wonderful experience with such a good GROUP!

Yup, Got to meet the whole group. From Bambi to Houdini. I am never as happy as when I am in a bunch of Equines.  Mista was as gentle as a lamb and took treats from little girl hands  as gently as a kitten,Lowered his head right to them. They loved him right away and even more when they heard his story.Gee I didn't even notice it was that cold out. They were all pretty well behaved, except for maybe a couple who thought they could help with the string from the round bales.....gotta get a nose in to check it out ya know.

But what impressed me the most was the dedication and compassion that Scott and Karen have for the whole herd. To listen to the day to day happenings, the wonders and the sorrows, of not just one or two, but all of the horses there and to see that each one is happy, not all are 100% anymore, due to the trials that life has given them, but they  all have a sparkle. There is alot of love out there in that pasture, and it starts before you even get to the gate.

I want everyone to know, that the most special thing about MHWF is the pair that hold it all together, Their compassion and caring for the animals and inner strength that it takes to do what they do, combine to make it not only a rescue but a force to be dealt with when it comes to doing the right thing, in the right ways for the right reasons.

more great photos on last night's entry!  Love the mystery with Mista's photo.  How odd that he wasnt interested in coming to visit that day, guess he was giving whomever it was the cold shoulder & probably rightly so - only Mista can truly judge that.
