Just a quick little update here.  I just have to say that Janie has made her second television appearance in her young life.  This time around Janie was smiling for the camera though and acting quite the clown that she has become.  Everyone who meets her now says what a character and full of personality that she is.  Wow, that makes me smile.  She is such a different horse now than when she arrived.

Oh yes, the reason she is appearing on TV is because the local cable channel was here tonight doing an interview about MHWF and the Central Wisconsin Horse Expo, and Janie was a part of that interview and made a wonderful appearance.  We do not get cable out here in the middle of nowhere, but we hope to be able to find someone who can record it for us or will get a copy from the station.  They said it will be airing in the beginning of September, but I do not have the exact dates and times yet.  (only local Marshfield people will be able to see it)   Janie was an absolute hoot and I can't wait to see her on TV, this time in such a different light than her first time on TV.

Karen, our neighbor works for the cable channel. When I had my van in the Dairyfest Parade I couldn't see it either, since we have Dish Network, not cable. I was able to purchase a copy from him for a small price. I can give you his name if you'd like or just call him myself, too.

It would be cool to get that before the Expo so that you could have it running at the booth.  Janie has blossomed into such a gorgeous girl...it's so hard to believe that she's the same horse!!

hehehehe...I'm chuckling about Janie and the video recording they did.  Janie's little segment was quite cute.  We recorded in the front yard by the sign for an intro, also a bit by Janie, as well as out in the pasture.  I am anxious to see the finished product of this video, as I think the editor is going to have to be a master super genius to make it come out descent.    There were many interruptions during the interview process, many times not being able to finish a sentence without being interrupted by a child's question as we were answering, and while in the pasture Josh, Pride and Bambi really became pests to the camera man...sticking their nose in the camera during an interview process, sniffing the interviewer's hair, Bambi harrassing at a split second and trying to steal the cords, etc.  I will be interested to see the finished product, no doubt about it.    I am sure there will be segments of it that will be nice.  Sophie made quite an appearance, as well as Mike and Kentucky Kelly too.  Even Festivo got in on the act.
We will be running our production video that Linda Walker of LW Video Productions, LLC, did for MHWF on the little TV set in our booth at the Expo for people to watch.  Linda did such an excellent job and it is an amazing and beautiful video production.

I think I will get my little digital camera out and record a few little segments of Janie to upload to YouTube to share a link here for everyone to see what a character she has become.  Hopefully I can find some extra time to do that over this coming holiday and fair weekend.

Janie just wanted to say hi!

Janie is doing absolutely fabulous and has turned into the most gorgeous horse you could dream of.  Her personality is blossoming and she really is quite the character.  We will be putting a couple of new pictures of Janie on her profile on the adoption page as well.

Here is a shot of Janie while we were having some fun in the round pen yesterday (Sat., Sept. 16)

Janie is just so amazing!

We haven't had time to get her new pics on her profile yet, but I just had a minute here and have to share this.

Here is a picture of Janie close to her time of arrival at the end of April:

Here is the updated picture of Janie from June:

Here is the updated picture of Janie from yesterday (September):

Wow, I can't believe my eyes either.  When you see a horse every day like this you don't realize how much they have really changed, so it took me looking at these pictures in sequence for it to really hit home.  What a transformation!  Mentally and emotionally, she has changed even more and has blossomed into such a sweetheart who loves people!

Man, I know it's been a big change since she first arrived, but that picture from June is still so far from where she is right now. Great job! I really think she's starting to look a bit like a Morgan; guess we'll never know for certain what she is.

How bout a quick pic update on Stormy?  Here's a picture hot off the press (well, email) of our little Stormy looking all cozy in her stall when it started to rain.  Stormy has been doing extremely well in her new home and is coming along very nicely with her saddle training continuing.
Thanks for the pic Sandy!

As many of you have already read on the "open house" thread, Janie has made her transition to the pasture.  She decided it was time for us to cut the apron strings and she was ready to be out with the herd.  She has been doing beautifully and respecting the fence.  She was turned out yesterday, Saturday the 10th of November into the larger herd.  Today we turned Mista out into the smaller herd and had some worries about her wanting to join him and not respecting the fence, but they had their conversations over the fence line just fine with no problems at all.  We had plans to turn Janie and Mista out together in the smaller herd in about a month, but she decided it was time now and we are going with this since it is working out so well.  She is a better fit for that pasture as it is a lot further away from the road with many fence lines in between (just in case), and Mista is a better fit for the smaller herd with more special needs, so we had to go with not turning them out together.  They are both dealing with it just great!!!  Janie comes trotting up to me when I go out and call her in her new pasture!  (it will be a little bit before she graduates to no halter, again just in case)
What a great joy and relief to see little Janie become part of a herd.
Here is a quick snapshot from today (Sunday the 11th of November) of Janie just being one of the girls.  Here is Janie pictured with Bambi and Cindy.
