So sorry to read of your losses, Scott. Life certainly seems to have its rhythms of weddings, births, and deaths. Hang in there, hope it is at least another 10 yrs without funerals for you.

Scott, I am so sorry for your loss.  It is never easy to lose someone we love, but it must be especially losing two special people in such a short time frame.  Take care.  thoughts & prayers are with you.

I just saw the post regarding your Grandmother. I'm so sorry Scott. No matter how you think you are prepared for a loss like this, your heart still aches. Take care.

I was so sorry to read of your losses Scott, losing family is so difficult and there are just no words I can think of that seem quite right.  Just wanted to say you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.  I lost both my parents, and a cousin, and brother in law, all within a relatively short period of time, and it is such a huge shock and adjustment to lose family like that.  Like someone else posted, I am looking forward to the new year, this past year has been a tough one for so many people.

So sorry to hear about the loss of your grandma an that she was buried on your fathers birthday of all days. It's not easy by no means as my father died on my nieces birthday an one can't remember one without remembering the other an that was way back in 1982. Time heals an sometimes it takes a little longer then other times. If I remember my mothers birthday, I also have to remember that my husband took his life the day after so I kind of know what I'm talking about.
As for your grandmother being the glue that held the family together I can understand that also. Since my parents died I don't see family near as much as I use to. I use to be really close to cousins an some haven't seen in years. Family is everything, the closer the better.

Thoughts and prayers going your way. Cancer stinks!!! My Mother fought her battle 24 years ago and won!  My brother was just diagnosed with prostate cancer, and will be having his prostate removed two days before his 42nd birthday. My favorite Aunt has cancer in 4 or 5 different spots, mainly breast cancer. She's still fighting and in good spirits, even though she'll have chemo until it takes her.
