You get two votes a day from me. One from home, one from work, and then if I am at class at night, I vote from there too! |

| #31 | Hee hee,
I'm another one who votes daily from multiple computers. But it is really not cheating, because varoius employees could vote from those work computers instead of me..... and they are already voting from home, so are on board for MHWF anyway. Wonder what it takes to get up on the top ten national list?

I think we finished number 7 nationally last time around. What it takes to get in the top 10 is for everyone to vote every day....and for those people to ask and beg for their friends and contacts to vote every day as well. |

| #33 | I'm voting everyday & reminding people constantly, however with the exception of just a few people who I know are voting daily I feel like I would have an easier time beating my head against a wall. I can't figure out why it's so hard for people to click on a link, click vote & type in what animal they see. I'm not having much luck with people at all this time around, I don't understand it & it's making me rather crabby. Hope that changes soon. |

I wish we could see the vote totals like we could in, I think it was the "Care2" contest. It drives me nuts not knowing where we are. I think it's a great motivator when you know how close you are vote wise to each rank on the ladder to the top. |

May be others are having my problem. Most of the time my session times out before my vote has gone through and it can take over an hour to get through before the session times out! I have dial up and without spending a fortune I am stuck with just dial up! So I am off to the library to vote, again! |

Terry, I have dial up also and I have been getting through just fine so far. I would love to hook up to satellite but don't want to pay the prices either! |

I have been voting everyday, but want to forward this on to some of my contacts. What is the easiest way to do this? If I remember correctly, there was some information about this the last time this contest was run, but of course, I can't find it. |

| #41 | Diane,
If you have a PC you can do this fairly easily. Go to the MHWF home page where the link to the contest voting page is listed. Click on the link to bring up the voting page and look at the address line up near the top of your browser. It will say something like http://theanimalrescuesiteClicktogive(and then some more of the address). Highlight that (fairly long) address line with your mouse. After you have done this (and before you do anything else), place your little mouse cursor arrow so it is pointing to some part of the highlighted area, then right-click on your mouse and a little box will appear with some choices of actions you can do. Find "Copy" in the list and click on it. This copies the highlighted address for the Pet Adoption Site's voting page onto your computer's clipboard.
Then compose your email to your (long and productive!) list of contacts you will be begging to vote for MHWF. At whatever point in your email you want to insert the link to the voting page, put your blinking cursor (I usually double-space and put the cursor over at the left margin so there is a line's worth of white in my email to set off the link from my text) and then right-click your mouse again. This time when the box of choices appears, find "Paste" in the list and click on that. Presto, the link you copied from the voting page will be "pasted" from your clipboard right into your e-mail. That's all there is to it! It's usually a good idea to click on the link you just pasted into your email before you send the email off to your list of contacts. If it is "live" and functioning OK, it will work from your email before you send it; if the voting page does not come up, you will need to try again until you get it right.
Please forgive me if you did not need all this detail, and just needed the input to "Copy and Paste" the voting page address! Mac users can do the same, just with Mac procedures.
Hope this helps, Diane.

| #42 | Jan N. Thank you so much. I was trying to copy from the post, and that wouldn't work. I don't have a real big contact list, but I figure if I can even get a couple people to vote, that could make a difference. I figured it out, and sent out the message. |

OK Folks, we are reaching new lows, the Rabbits have passed us. Even though they are Minnesota rabbits they should not get by us Horses. I manage to do six computers a day but this seems to really have caught on all around the country. Keep voting. Burt |

| #45 | We are pretty frustrated here too....the simple fact is that a LOT of you can't be bothered to take a moment to vote. Many of you are, but a LOT of you are not. There is no reason that a site that gets as much traffic as this one does should be dropping a spot or two every day....no way. A rabbit rescue passed us up....really?
I hate to sound cynical or irritated, but we won't lie to you...we are pretty disappointed right now. Clearly very few people are voting and even fewer are passing it along and getting others to vote. How should we feel about that when our website traffic is busier than ever....
If this post offends you.....ok, maybe that's what it will take to light a fire under some rear ends and actually get a few people to walk the walk instead of just talking the talk. |

| #46 | I guess when the local media is a bit biased that is going to make it even tougher on this organization to try and make it in this contest. The local media is asking for votes for a particular shelter in the same county, and rather than just giving the facts of the contest and who is in it they are pulling for votes for that shelter. That certainly is not going to make it easy for the horses to do well.
Article Title: Vote for the South Wood County Humane Society today

We are going to have to start working a bit harder on this and reach out to more areas for help, since we are obviously not going to get the help from our local media. We will have to contact the Marshfield News Herald for their help, as they are also in the same county and maybe they can do the same for us as the Trib is doing for SWCHS.

| #48 | They got tons of press last year too, but we still came in ahead of them and climbed all the time in the rankings. We are a long way from competing with them for a spot. If they were in 9th and we were in 10th, then I would be talking about the press they are getting. But the fact of the matter is we aren't even close and the readers of this forum need to help us out and cast a vote every day....pass it on, post on Fackebook and Twitter, email your address book, co-workers....all of that. With the traffic this site gets we should easily be climbing, not dropping a spot or two every day. |

| #49 | Hey everyone, Good to know MWHWF is back in the competition mode again. For those of us that don't visit the site on a daily basis maybe we need an email blast now before we fall too far behind so those non-daily people like me that have been agressive in getting votes before are informed ASAP. I'll "get on my horse" now and hopefully we can catch a few more strays and get them moving immediately. |
