Just to be brief, I think, this subject should be brought up the the public, as a whole.  Another front to bring it to is the Wisconsin Public Radio.  I seem to be the only one who ever calls in to have this topic discussed.
Each time, (3), they seem so interested, but I have never received a call for more information, and have even given them the number for the MHWF, and Scott and Karen name as contact information.
I did get in again on Monday, and perhaps if more people called in and even emailed and ask for this topic, they would have a program.  "Then". if they did, supporters would have to call in or email and give their views.  I know the subject, is being brought up in Congress and some states, to review the closing of the slaughter plants.
A lot of people, even horse people, are for the slaughter plants.  Last week, on WPR, someone was discussing the ecomony's affect on pets, and horses were brought up, but most animals like cats and dogs.
I have gotten in 4 ponies, and one weanling in the last 6 weeks.  So that brings my total, to 13 horses, which I support, (with no job), and just wish I could do more.

I'm just wondering how in the world you manage to support 13 horses with no job?  It doesn't seem humanly possible unless you are getting money from somewhere.  There is no way that I could pay my bills or support my kids or animals without one.  Even with the one I have, things are definitely suffering.

I did not mean this posting to make people wonder how, I support my horses.
I wanted to bring awareness, that the Wisconsin Public Radio, does programs on varies topics.  A program, on the "unwanted horses", would also bring some support for the horses here at MHWF, and also horses in general.

As far as me supporting my horses, I have a farm, I help out to help during haying season and some hay that way.  Also rock picking for 4 dollars an hour.  I have sold my saddles and tack to pay for hay when needed.  I make 10 dollars a week, helping clean a lady's house.  For my birthday and Christmas I get feed.  I do not go anywhere but to Church and once a week do grocery shopping.  I have not got my hair done, or brought clothes for yearsssssssssssssss.  I only get 2-3 horses trimmed at a time.  The last 4 ponies I have only had about 6-7 weeks, but they needed the most hoof trimming, and the weanling I picked up at Neilsville.  My horses have been well worked with, and mostly young ones gotten off the meat truck.  I use common sense and advise from old time farriers, when needed instead of calling a vet, who will just say, "put it down, you can replace it cheaper".
I work hard to support my horses, and other than the new pony, they are not thin, regular worming, and hooves trimmed.

Sorry Buffy, I did not mean to take away from what your post was trying to accomplish!  I just couldn't figure out how someone could do it without a job.  While you may not have a "regular" job...You obviously do work to earn something to support your animals, and some of that isn't easy work to do...Like cleaning someone elses house (I know...been there and done that!).

Now....Back to public radio.
